In 2017, I created collages and aphorisms out of cuttings from the Daily Mail to intentionally recycle its prejudiced content. The series is entitled 'Recycling Hatred'.

The first four collages in the series (March 2017):

Heading 6

#1 'The madness of a hug may wobble terror'

#2 'Mummy dismounted the bed of a nagging foreign revolution'

#3 'We look for love like deported flowers'

#4 'The Heroic seeds of youth ain't ready for war'

JACQUES

I am an interdisciplinary artist, performance creator, author and researcher

I am the creative director of the Theatre of Lived Experience. I create art work based on personal narratives to foster awareness, understanding and acceptance of one another. My work aims at challenging perceptions, and opening creative spaces for reflection, dialogue and change. It is located at the intersection between the personal and the collective. I mainly explore our relationship to otherness. I am interested in performance art as public and social intervention whereby audiences are involved as co-creators. I experiment without knowing whether it will work.

I am based in Bedford (UK).
